Job Opening: Part-Time Administrative Assistant

Location: Millington, TN
Hours: 15–20 hours per week (additional hours during events)
Compensation: $17/hour
Schedule: Flexible, but with required attendance at events
The Millington Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly organized and proactive Part-Time Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of our office and assist with the execution of member-focused events and initiatives. This role works closely alongside the Office Administrator and Executive Director to ensure efficient communication, streamlined administrative tasks, and smooth coordination of events that support our local business community.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
- Answer and direct incoming calls and emails
- Track incoming/outgoing mail and maintain office supply inventory
- Greet walk-in guests and keep front desk materials (pamphlets, applications, newsletters) updated and organized
- Assist with filing and printing duties (receipts, forms, programs, etc.)
- Maintain both digital and physical calendars for meetings, events, and appointments
- Help maintain accurate records of member balances, payments, sponsorships, and outstanding dues
- Assist with generating and distributing invoices
- Track and organize financial documentation for events and member contributions
- Support basic reporting and reconciliation processes (no solo cash handling required, except during events)
- Assist with the planning and execution of Chamber events (6 annually), including monthly Chamber luncheons
- Coordinate with volunteers, ambassadors, and event leaders on logistics, supplies, and delegation of tasks
- Help run ticket tables, manage sign-ins, and collect payments during events
- Organize and file event materials (seating charts, programs, ticket lists, etc.)
- Help draft and distribute reminder emails, texts (Sentext), and e-blasts for upcoming events and updates
- Follow up with members regarding outstanding balances or documentation
- Assist with content creation and basic maintenance of Chamber social media platforms

- Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic spreadsheet management
- Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a small team
- Previous experience in administrative, office assistant, or event planning roles is a plus
